Superstar Prabhas charges ₹100 crore for ‘The Raja Saab’, cuts fees by 33%

Superstar Prabhas, fondly known as the "Rebel Star" of Telugu cinema, is once again making headlines — not just for his upcoming film The Raja Saab, but also for reportedly slashing his fee by a whopping ₹50 crore. The actor, who usually commands around ₹150 crore per film, is said to have charged ₹100 crore for this horror-comedy, showing a rare move in today’s high-budget film landscape.

Directed by Maruthi and backed by People Media Factory, The Raja Saab is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 5, 2025. After some delay, the film is now ready to offer audiences a never-before-seen avatar of Prabhas — one that blends elements of romance, horror, and comedy.

The decision to reduce his fee is reportedly tied to the response to Adipurush, the previous collaboration between Prabhas and the same production house. Despite being hyped as a mega-mythological spectacle, the film failed to meet critical and commercial expectations, prompting the actor to consider financial flexibility for the benefit of the upcoming project.

With The Raja Saab, the makers aim to strike a balance between mass appeal and quirky storytelling, targeting a wider audience across India.The teaser for the film is expected to be released on June 16, building up further excitement.

Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the People Media Factory banner, the film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhi Kumar in pivotal roles. Cinematographer Karthik Palani and music director Thaman S round out the talented crew. The film is set for a pan-India release in five languages — Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam — promising to connect with diverse audiences.
