Police in Survey Park have arrested three more accused in a digital fraud case registered under sections of the Indian Penal Code. The complainant, Dr. Utpal Kumar Bit, was earlier falsely accused of money laundering by Mumbai police officials and threatened. The accused carried out fraudulent transactions to the tune of ₹1 crore from Dr. Bit through three separate dealings.
The investigation revealed that the accused used digital means to commit the fraud, prompting intensified police action. After obtaining court orders, the case officer recovered ₹28,37,400 in cash, which was returned to Dr. Utpal Kumar Bit today. The police are continuing their probe to identify any further suspects involved in the scam.
This case remains under active investigation, with law enforcement focused on dismantling the network responsible. The recovery and return of a substantial sum mark a key development in the ongoing inquiry. Further arrests are expected as the investigation progresses.
