In a swift and compassionate response to the devastating Air India crash that claimed over 200 lives in Ahmedabad, the Tata Group has announced ₹1 crore compensation for each victim's family.
N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons and Air India, expressed deep sorrow and stated that the airline’s immediate priority is to support the affected families. “We are doing everything in our power to assist the emergency teams and to provide all necessary support and care to those impacted,” he said in a statement shared online.
To aid grieving families, Air India is also operating two special relief flights—one from Delhi and another from Mumbai—to Ahmedabad. These flights aim to transport the next of kin of passengers and staff. Hotlines have been set up for assistance, including international access numbers. An emergency centre is also active to share verified updates and coordinate support efforts.
