The merit list for the recent Madhyamik (Class X board) examinations has seen a significant expansion, with the total number of top-ranking students increasing from 66 to 79. This impressive surge, driven by the results of post-publication scrutiny and review, has brought 13 additional meritorious students into the coveted list. These students, hailing from diverse districts across South and North Bengal, have seen their scores revised upwards, affirming the importance of the re-evaluation process in ensuring fair assessment.
While the very top spot remains unchanged, the revised results have led to a fascinating reshuffle across various ranks, from second to tenth position. This indicates that while the absolute highest scorer maintained their position, numerous other high-achieving students benefited from the re-evaluation of their answer scripts.
Among the most significant upward movements, Supratik Manna of Purba Medinipur Contai Model Institution climbed from fourth to second position, with his score increasing from 692 to 694. This jump highlights how even minor score adjustments can lead to substantial rank improvements in a highly competitive academic environment.
Other notable advancements include Srijan Pramanik from Malda Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidyamandir and Souptik Mukherjee from Kangsabati Shishu Vidyalaya, both moving from eighth to seventh rank after their marks rose from 688 to 689. This demonstrates the tight competition among top-tier students, where even a single mark can alter rankings.
Further down the list, students like Debjit Laha (Ramakrishna Mission Sarada Vidyapeeth) and Antrip Maiti (Tamulk Hamilton High School) saw their marks increase from 685 to 688, propelling them from eleventh to eighth place. Similarly, Chayan Roy (Balurghat High School) moved from eleventh to ninth with an increase from 685 to 687.
The ninth position also welcomed Samyak Das (Nav Nalanda Santiniketan) and Rupam Dixit (Ramakrishna Mission Shiksha Mandir, Purba Medinipur), whose scores improved to 687. At the tenth spot, Anyanya Majumdar (Mathabhanga Girls High School, Cooch Behar), Prerna Vaidya (Sarada Vidyapeeth High School, South 24 Parganas), Pragyan Debnath (Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidya Mandir, Malda), Sayandeep Ghosh (Bishnupur High School, Bankura), and Soham Karan (Contai Model Institution) all saw their marks increase to 686, securing their places in the expanded merit list.
