The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday conducted raids in the Madhyamgram area of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Bihar constable recruitment examination paper leak scam. This development indicates the expanding reach of the scam's investigation beyond Bihar's borders, as the question papers for the recruitment exam, which saw a major leak about a year ago, were reportedly printed at a local press.
ED officials targeted "Blessing Secret Press Private Limited" located in the "Ganganagar Mitra Complex" under Madhyamgram police station. Sources indicate that this printing press was responsible for printing question papers for various government recruitment examinations, not only for Bihar but also for other states. The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police has already made several arrests in this case, including a senior official from a private institution in Madhyamgram, individuals from Kolkata, North 24 Parganas, and Lucknow.
The ED's investigation suggests that the scope of this scam extends beyond Bihar. Furthermore, the agency is now also looking into a potential connection between the Bihar constable recruitment paper leak and the NEET-UG examination paper leak from 2024. This raises serious suspicions about a common network operating behind multiple high-stakes examination frauds. During the raid, the ED seized crucial documents and electronic evidence, which are expected to shed more light on the intricate web of this alleged paper leak syndicate.
