Fire engulfs factory in Howrah, 4 fire tenders rush at spot

A fire broke out on Thursday morning at a bitumen manufacturing factory in the Alampur area of Howrah district. According to local residents, the factory was operating as usual when smoke was seen rising from the premises. People nearby alerted the police and fire department immediately after spotting flames inside the building.

Initially, one fire engine was sent to the site. However, due to the intensity of the fire, the number of engines was increased to four. Firefighters have been working to control the blaze, but the fire had not been fully extinguished at the time of reporting. The cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed, though the possibility of a short circuit has not been ruled out. No casualties have been reported so far.

The incident has caused panic in the area, and residents expressed concern over the scale of the fire. The factory has reportedly suffered significant damage. Officials are monitoring the situation closely. The actual cause and extent of damage will be known after a full investigation once the fire is brought under control.
