Sodepur flyover to shut every weekend from July 19 for urgent structural repairs
Three separate road accidents occurred in Koderma district between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, resulting in one death and injuries to three others. The incidents were reported from Koderma and Tilaiya police station areas.
On Thursday morning, a Hyva truck carrying fly ash from Koderma to Bihar overturned in the Koderma valley. The driver, 35-year-old Mukesh Yadav, son of Bachchu Yadav from Nalanda district in Bihar, died on the spot. According to Koderma police station in-charge Vikas Paswan, the police received information about the accident and sent a team to the site. The body was taken to Koderma Sadar Hospital. Initial reports suggest that the truck’s brakes may have failed, causing it to hit a roadside tree and overturn.
In a separate incident on Wednesday night, a car accident occurred near Maharana Pratap Chowk under Tilaiya police station. Kishore Agarwal, a resident of Jhalpo, was returning home with his daughter after buying milk from Jawahar Market when their car collided with stray cattle on NH-20. According to Agarwal, cows suddenly came in front of the vehicle, and while trying to brake, the car hit the cattle and overturned multiple times before crashing into a road divider. His daughter sustained minor injuries, and the car was severely damaged. Two cows died on the spot.
Another accident occurred early Thursday morning near Gumo Satpulia, also under Tilaiya police station. A car travelling from Patna to Barhi collided with a cow that suddenly ran across the NH-20. The cow died on the spot, and the vehicle was extensively damaged. The driver stated that he and four friends were on their way to collect motor parts when the incident occurred. All passengers escaped unhurt.
All three incidents were reported to the respective police stations. The damaged vehicles were towed away, and traffic was briefly disrupted on NH-20. Authorities have not issued any official statement regarding preventive measures or further investigation.
