Shubhman Gill slams maiden Test 200 in 311 balls against England
A man and woman were found dead in a pool of blood early Thursday in Baidyabati’s Sitaram Bagan area under Ward No. 18 in Hooghly district. According to local residents, loud screams were heard around 3 am from a house in the neighbourhood. When people reached the spot, they found the man lying injured inside the house and the woman outside, both covered in blood and in critical condition.
The local police from Shrirampur police station reached the spot shortly after being informed and took both victims to Shrirampur Walsh Hospital, where doctors declared them dead. The deceased were identified as Manish Bhaduri (35), who worked at a casting factory, and Aparna Majhi (32), who worked as a domestic help. The two had reportedly been living together in the house for the past three years.
Following the incident, DCP (Shrirampur) Arnab Biswas, ACP Shubhankar Biswas, and the Officer-in-Charge of Shrirampur police station visited the location. A probe was initiated, and CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined. Police have not yet confirmed whether it was a case of murder or suicide.
