Shubhman Gill slams maiden Test 200 in 311 balls against England
The sacred Shravani Mela in Deoghar, Jharkhand, is poised to commence on July 11, 2025, and will continue until August 9, attracting millions of devotees to the Baba Baidyanath Dham. The Deoghar district administration is in the final stages of its meticulous preparations for the successful and seamless organization of this grand pilgrimage. Deputy Commissioner Naman Priyash Lakra has issued a comprehensive set of guidelines primarily focused on enhancing the convenience and experience of the visiting devotees, with a strong emphasis on fair practices.
A key initiative by the district administration for this year's Mela is the stringent control over the quality and pricing of popular 'prasad' items. Fixed rates have been announced for essential offerings such as peda, chuda, and cardamom seeds. This proactive measure aims to curb any potential exploitation of pilgrims through exorbitant pricing or compromised quality during the bustling Mela period.
Shopkeepers have been issued stern warnings against charging more than the officially prescribed rates. The administration has made it clear that any vendor found violating these price controls will face strict punitive action. This move is designed to ensure transparency and prevent overcharging, thereby protecting the economic interests of the countless devotees.
Alongside price regulation, strict instructions have also been given to maintain the quality of all prasad items. The administration is keen to ensure that pilgrims receive authentic and hygienic offerings. To further bolster this, the general public and devotees are encouraged to promptly report any instances of irregularity or overcharging to the authorities, reinforcing a collaborative approach to fair trade.
