The Calcutta High Court on Thursday received a sealed investigation report from Kolkata Police in connection with the alleged gangrape of a student inside Kasba’s law college on June 25. The report was submitted as per earlier directions issued by the Division Bench of Justice Soumen Sen and Justice Smita Das De. The sealed report was handed over to the advocate representing the victim’s family. The court clearly stated that the contents of the report are not to be made public.
The incident involves the alleged gangrape of a female student within the college campus. Former student Manojeet Mishra has been arrested as the primary accused. Along with him, two other individuals and a security guard employed at the college have also been arrested in connection with the case. The investigation is being conducted by the Detective Department of Kolkata Police based at Lalbazar. The court had earlier asked police to explain how such an incident occurred on campus and to detail the existing security arrangements.
Additionally, a separate report was submitted to the court on the issue of unauthorized individuals entering college campuses and their alleged influence. The court took note of the submission. The next hearing in the case has been scheduled for July 17.
