BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya has claimed that 335 out of 444 suspected illegal immigrants recently arrested in Odisha were found with fake identity documents allegedly issued in West Bengal. He alleged that these documents were provided under the governance of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and accused the state government of enabling infiltration.
According to Malviya, the matter concerns not only document authenticity but also issues related to national security and demographic composition. He stated, "TMC is flooding Bengal with Bangladeshi infiltrators. These infiltrators work in other states, but return to Bengal during elections to vote for Mamata Banerjee."
He also criticised TMC MP Mahua Moitra for her earlier comment describing the arrested individuals as “innocent Bengalis.” Malviya stated that, contrary to her claim, 335 among them were in possession of forged documents. He highlighted this as evidence of a larger pattern of identity fraud.
Malviya further urged other Indian states to exercise caution while employing workers who present identity or address documents issued from West Bengal. He said the issue is not limited to population imbalance but could impact internal security. No official response has been issued by the West Bengal government so far.
