Tajikistani singer and former Bigg Boss 16 contestant Abdu Rozik was briefly detained at Dubai International Airport early Saturday, with multiple reports initially claiming he had been arrested on theft charges. However, his management has since dismissed those reports and clarified that Rozik was not arrested and has been released.
According to a statement from the S-Line Project, which manages Rozik, “First of all, he is not arrested, he was only detained by the police. Abdu Rozik gave his explanations and was released. Today he will participate in the award ceremony which will be held in Dubai.”
The team further stated that media reports circulating about Rozik’s alleged arrest and involvement in a theft case are inaccurate. “Secondly information in media is not correct. We will take all legal action to protect Abdu Rozik and his image,” the statement added.
Rozik, who rose to fame in India through his participation in Bigg Boss 16, is a popular figure across South Asia and the Middle East. His detainment at the Dubai airport led to widespread speculation, but his team stressed that he is continuing with his planned public appearances, including attending a scheduled award ceremony in Dubai.
The statement concluded with an assurance that the team would share further information with the public and expressed their intent to address the matter legally. “Also we will provide you with all information later on to inform Indian people. Believe us we have a lot to say regarding this issue,” the team said.
