Senior BJP leader and former West Bengal state president Dilip Ghosh has been invited to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public meeting in Durgapur on July 18. This comes after his absence from several recent high-profile party events in the state. According to sources close to Ghosh, he is expected to attend the meeting.
Ghosh was not invited to the Prime Minister’s rally in Alipurduar earlier this year and was also not present at Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s meeting held at Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata. His absence from these events had drawn attention within party circles. However, he has now received an invitation for the Durgapur meeting, which is part of Modi’s outreach in West Bengal.
After assuming charge as the BJP state president, Sukanta Majumdar stated he would work to bring together senior and junior leaders. Dilip Ghosh, who had been appointed to a worker-level post in the party, is now officially back on the list of invitees for the Prime Minister’s program in Durgapur.
