Kolkata police arrested Anupam Prasad from Sector 142, Noida, in connection with a fraud case involving Rs 2.4 lakh paid for a flat rental in Rajarhat. The case was registered under sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code at EC police station under FIR number 28/25. The complaint was filed on February 12, 2025, by the manager of Iskrameco India Ltd.
According to the complaint, on June 13, 2023, Iskrameco India Ltd. entered into an agreement with Anupam Prasad, owner of Konnectogo, and a woman named Vedika to rent a flat in Rajarhat. The company paid Rs 2,40,000 to the accused as per the agreement. However, the flat was never provided, and despite repeated efforts to contact the accused, no response was received. This led the company to file the formal complaint with the police.
The police investigation involved technical and documentary evidence, which helped identify and locate Anupam Prasad in Noida, where he was subsequently arrested. The probe is ongoing to examine the role of other possible suspects involved in the case. Authorities are continuing efforts to uncover further details and ensure a comprehensive investigation.
