Newly appointed Haryana Governor Professor Asim Kumar Ghosh said on Monday that the post of governor is not a position for rest, but one of responsibility. Speaking in Howrah after his appointment by President Droupadi Murmu, Ghosh stated, “The post of governor is not a position for relaxation.” He acknowledged Haryana’s progress in several sectors and highlighted the importance of agriculture and economic indicators.
Ghosh described Haryana’s population as hardworking and noted improvements in agriculture, calling it a “very important sector.” He said, “Haryana has seen significant improvement. The per capita income of people is high. The people of Haryana are very hardworking. Agriculture is a very important sector, and there has been considerable improvement in this area.”
Ghosh also referred to the efforts of the current state leadership to improve living conditions. He said that as the constitutional head of the state, it would be his “big responsibility” to advise the government for the betterment of the people. “The current leadership is making its best efforts to improve the situation. In future, as the constitutional head, advising the government for the upliftment of Haryana’s people will be my big responsibility,” he said.
