PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
A alarming incident has come to light in Chuchura, Hooghly district, where a woman named Purba, a resident of Jagudaspada, Ward No. 11, narrowly escaped an alleged kidnapping attempt by a Toto driver. The incident unfolded as Purba was en route to pick up her son from a private English medium school in Bandel.
Purba recounted that while traveling in the Toto, the driver allegedly sprayed a chemical substance inside the vehicle. She immediately began to feel dizzy and disoriented due to the strong odor. Her suspicions were further aroused when she noticed the Toto being driven in the wrong direction, coupled with the driver repeatedly turning to engage her in conversation before opening a bottle that released the powerful stench, causing her eyes to feel heavy. Sensing immediate danger and thinking of her son, she made a swift decision to jump out of the moving vehicle without hesitation.
Fortuitously, another woman from her locality happened to be passing through the Kapasadanga area at the time of the incident. Recognizing Purba and quickly grasping the gravity of the situation, she immediately intervened by taking out the keys of the Toto. With the timely assistance of local residents, the Toto driver was apprehended, and Purba was safely brought back to Jagudashpada in the same vehicle.
