Fire guts warehouse in Howrah's Domjur; No casualties reported

A fire broke out at a factory warehouse in the Biponnapara area of Domjur, Howrah, on Thursday night. According to local sources, the fire started while a factory worker was cooking, and a gas cylinder is suspected to have triggered the blaze. Two fire engines reached the site quickly and began firefighting operations, assisted by local residents. No injuries or casualties have been reported. The entire warehouse has been gutted.

The fire caused panic in the surrounding area. The flames were brought under control after several hours of effort. As per the initial assessment, the fire resulted in the complete destruction of stored goods and property inside the warehouse. Officials are examining the site to determine the exact cause and assess the total damage.

This is the third industrial fire reported in the region in recent months. In April, a chemical factory in Uttar Jhaparadah, also in Domjur, caught fire, requiring 15 fire engines to control the situation. Around a week ago, a factory in Barasat also reported a fire. An investigation into the Biponnapara incident is currently underway.
