PM Modi inaugurates ₹7,217 cr projects in Bihar, flags off new trains from Motihari

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Motihari on Friday, launched development projects worth ₹7,217 crore for Bihar. The announcements included the inauguration of several road and railway infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity between the eastern and western regions of the state. The event was attended by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.

As part of the railway-related developments, PM Modi flagged off new train services to enhance regional connectivity. These services are expected to improve passenger movement and goods transport across various districts of Bihar. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of linking Bihar to national and international markets and said the projects would contribute to the state’s economic activity.

He stated that many districts in Bihar are lagging in agriculture and productivity and mentioned that the Dhan Dhanaya Yojana will focus on helping those areas. “Our complete focus is on the backward districts,” he said. He also highlighted the government’s effort to support farmers, create employment, and expand financial inclusion through schemes like Jan Dhan and MUDRA.

CM Nitish Kumar announced that the state plans to provide free electricity to all households and said a cabinet meeting would be held on the same day to finalize the decision. He also stated that the state government had already provided 10 lakh government jobs and 29 lakh employment opportunities, with a target of creating 1 crore new jobs in the next five years.

PM Modi also mentioned the rise in the number of ‘Lakhpati Didis’, stating that over 1.5 crore women across the country had benefitted. A ₹400 crore community investment fund was released during the event. He concluded his speech with a call to continue development work and encouraged public support for ongoing infrastructure and welfare schemes.
