A clash broke out between Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters in West Bengal’s Barrackpore over a disputed party office. The confrontation took place after TMC alleged that BJP had constructed a party office on government land without proper authorization. TMC members reportedly attempted to remove the structure, which led to resistance from BJP supporters and a physical altercation between both sides.
The scuffle escalated quickly, prompting the police to intervene. Law enforcement personnel reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Police presence in the area has been increased to avoid any further incidents. The local administration is currently reviewing official land records to determine the status and ownership of the land where the structure was erected.
As of now, no reports of serious injuries have been confirmed. Authorities stated that they are monitoring the situation and maintaining strict vigil in the area. The atmosphere remains tense, but no fresh violence has been reported since the police deployment.
