Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a political rally in Durgapur, alleged that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has openly supported infiltrators and failed to uphold law and order in West Bengal. Beginning his speech with “Jai Ma Kali,” Modi said, “BJP wants a developed Bengal,” and claimed the state once stood as a center of prosperity but has now seen a decline.
He stated, “Bengal wants change. Bengal wants development.” Modi said that the youth of Bengal are forced to leave the state in search of employment and that BJP would work to bring investment and job creation if elected to power. He added that TMC’s governance was preventing industrial growth in the state and that “Bengal will become one of the most industrially prosperous states” under BJP rule.
Modi referred to specific incidents involving alleged lapses in women’s safety. He mentioned the RG Kar Hospital and Kasba incidents, saying, “Even hospitals in Bengal are not safe for women.” He claimed that during both incidents, there were attempts to protect the accused. He also mentioned an assault on a female student in a college and said that “Trinamool’s people were involved.”
On the issue of infiltration, Modi said, “Trinamool has openly come out in support of infiltrators.” He added, “Listen carefully — action will be taken against infiltrators strictly as per the Constitution.” He alleged that the ruling party had failed to protect national interests by allowing such activities.
He also referred to unrest in Murshidabad, alleging that police actions were biased and law and order had deteriorated. Modi said, “Entrepreneurs do not come here due to Trinamool’s hooliganism.” He also cited the existence of a “syndicate raj,” which he claimed is causing investors to flee. He added that both primary and higher education have been negatively affected.
