The Trinamool Congress will hold its annual Shaheed Diwas rally at Dharmatala on July 21, ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections. Anticipating a larger turnout than previous years, preparations have been intensified across Kolkata. Following the Calcutta High Court's directive, the Kolkata Police has been instructed to ensure that common citizens are not inconvenienced due to the rally. In response, the police have implemented a detailed traffic and crowd management plan.

Kolkata Police Commissioner Manoj Verma inspected key roads and intersections in the city to review the arrangements for July 21. He stated that citizens facing trouble during the rally can contact the toll-free helpline number 1073 or the mobile numbers 9830811111 and 9830010000 for assistance. The police have advised the public to avoid non-essential travel in the central parts of the city, particularly in and around Esplanade, to maintain smooth movement and reduce congestion.
