13-year-old boy sexually assaulted on Indore school campus; Two teens detained

Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, have been detained by police in Indore for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy on the premises of a school. The disturbing incident reportedly occurred on Thursday while the victim was playing on an open ground within the school campus. According to police officials, the accused, who are not students of the school, allegedly forced the boy into non-consensual sexual acts, including sodomy and oral sex.

The matter came to light after the victim's parents filed a complaint at the Annapurna Police Station. Police identified the accused as local youths, one of whom works as a mechanic, and confirmed they were known to frequent the school grounds, which are accessible to children from nearby areas. Following the complaint, law enforcement swiftly detained the suspects, registering a case under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and transferred them to a juvenile correctional facility for further investigation.

However, the incident has also cast a spotlight on serious concerns regarding child safety on school campuses and administrative procedures. The victim's family has alleged significant delays and negligence in getting the mandatory medical examination conducted. They claimed the child was initially directed to a district hospital lacking necessary resources, leading to hours of waiting and multiple visits before the test was finally performed at MY Hospital—a full 17 hours after the First Information Report (FIR) was filed. Authorities have yet to address questions about the school's security measures, and MY Hospital has admitted the delay, launching an inquiry into the matter as the police continue their investigation.
