Anubrata Mondal stopped at Shahid Diwas rally site during inspection visit

As anticipation builds for Trinamool Congress's (TMC) mega Martyrs' Day event, scheduled to hold many surprises before the 2026 elections, the first "surprise" unfolded even before the main event. On Sunday evening, much to everyone's astonishment, veteran Birbhum leader Anubrata Mondal arrived at the Dharmatala rally venue in Kolkata. He was seen inspecting the final preparations for the massive gathering, signaling his active involvement despite previous reports.

After a brief inspection of the arrangements, Mondal was seen seated on a chair placed on the stage, approximately twenty minutes after his arrival. According to sources, Anubrata Mondal is expected to be seated behind the main leadership on the stage during the actual event. He, however, refrained from commenting on the July 21st rally when approached by the media on Sunday.

Mondal, affectionately known as 'Kesto' among his supporters, arrived in Kolkata earlier than usual, underscoring the significance he attaches to the 'Shahid Diwas' event. He was spotted around 5 PM on Sunday in the barricaded area near the TMC stage at Dharmatala, indicating his early engagement with the event's preparations.

Initially, security personnel at the barricade asked the powerful Birbhum TMC leader to wait outside. After a brief wait of about twenty minutes, he was granted permission to enter the rally grounds. He then proceeded to the stage, took a seat on one of the chairs, and personally reviewed the preparations for the event, demonstrating his hands-on approach.
