Bangladesh Air Force training jet crashes into school campus in Dhaka

A Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed onto the campus of Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara area on Monday afternoon, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to four others. The F-7 BGI aircraft, confirmed to belong to the Air Force, crashed in the Diabari area where the school is located. The incident occurred during school hours, with children reportedly present on the premises at the time.

Fire service duty officer Lima Khanam stated, “The training aircraft crashed at the Milestone School and College in Diabari. Our team has recovered one body. The Air Force has rescued four people with injuries and taken them away.” The identities of the deceased and the injured have not yet been disclosed by authorities.

The crash caused a fire, with smoke visible from a distance. Eight firefighting units were deployed to the site to control the flames and assist in the rescue operation. The exact cause of the crash has not been shared so far. The Air Force and relevant agencies are expected to conduct an investigation.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) office confirmed in a statement that the aircraft belonged to the Bangladesh Air Force. No additional details have been released by the Air Force or the school authorities regarding the incident. Updates are awaited on the condition of the injured and the circumstances of the crash.
