A man died after his bike collided with a stationary passenger bus on National Highway 12 in Murshidabad's Dhalaramod area under Suti police station limits on Tuesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Manav Haldar, 32, a resident of Sonatikuri Colony in Kanupur Panchayat under Raghunathganj police station. He was employed at a fish wholesale centre in Raghunathganj and was on his way to Farakka at the time of the incident.
According to his family members, Manav was riding his motorcycle when he lost control and crashed into a bus that was parked along the highway near Dhalaramod. He fell to the ground with severe injuries and was found in a bloodied state. Locals present at the site immediately arranged to take him to Mahisail Hospital for treatment.
Doctors at the hospital declared him dead on arrival. Police from Suti station reached the scene, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination. Authorities have started an investigation into the incident, including verifying the circumstances under which the bus was parked on the highway.
