Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
A tragic accident occurred at the Kesoram Rayon Factory in Kuntighat, Hooghly, on Friday morning, leaving one worker dead and another injured. The incident took place during the morning shift when a device known as a “pod” reportedly exploded inside the unit, severely injuring the two men working nearby.
The deceased, identified as Rajnarayan Chaudhary, suffered a serious head injury, while Ravindra Chaudhary sustained injuries to his hand. Both were rushed by fellow workers to Chuchura Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared Rajnarayan dead on arrival.
Following the incident, tensions ran high at the factory premises, with workers expressing anger and demanding accountability. Police from Mogra station arrived at the scene to take stock of the situation and initiate an investigation.
Despite repeated efforts, the mill management could not be reached for a statement regarding the explosion or the safety protocols in place at the time.
