Three minor girls from Dadpur and Kamalpur villages under Kharmargachi Sija-Kamalpur Gram Panchayat in Hooghly district were rescued by Balagarh police within two hours of being reported missing. According to officials, the girls had left their homes on Wednesday morning without informing their families. When family members noticed their absence, the father of one of the girls lodged a written complaint at Balagarh police station around noon.
Acting on the complaint, Officer-in-Charge Somdeb Patra initiated an immediate search and assigned Sub-Inspector Buddhadev Bhattacharya to the case. During investigation, police found that the three girls had boarded a down train from Kharmargachi station headed towards Howrah earlier that morning. Based on this information, a team was formed and dispatched to Howrah for further action. Technical support and intelligence inputs were used to trace their location.
Hooghly Rural Police DSP (Crime) Abhijit Sinha Mahapatra said in a press conference that all three minor girls were located and brought back to the police station safely within two hours of the complaint being filed. The DSP shared details of the operation and confirmed that the girls were rescued without delay following swift coordination by the police team.
