TMC MPs protest outside Parliament against Centre’s policies and SIR drive

Trinamool Congress MPs held a demonstration outside Parliament on Friday during the ongoing Monsoon Session, raising slogans against the central government. The protest focused on issues such as inflation, unemployment, and the alleged misuse of constitutional institutions. Slogans like “Modi Sarkar Haye Haye” were shouted as the MPs displayed placards and posters criticising the Centre’s policies. The party stated that the protest was part of its ongoing opposition to what it termed as anti-people measures by the government.

Prominent Trinamool leaders including Derek O’Brien, Dola Sen, Saugata Roy, and Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar participated in the protest. The MPs alleged that the government was trying to suppress the voice of democracy and failing to address issues affecting the general public. They demanded answers from the Centre on key economic and institutional matters. According to the MPs, critical public issues raised in Parliament were being ignored or sidelined.

The Trinamool Congress stated that it would continue to oppose the central government’s policies both inside and outside Parliament. The party said it would not step back from raising people’s concerns and would press the Centre to uphold democratic norms and institutional accountability. The protest took place within the Parliament premises amid heightened political activity during the Monsoon Session.
