Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
Heavy rainfall has triggered a landslide along the banks of the Teesta River, causing a major section of National Highway 10 (NH-10) to collapse. The affected highway is a key lifeline connecting Sikkim with the rest of West Bengal. Due to the damage, vehicular movement on the route has been suspended, affecting both passenger and goods transport.
According to local officials, traffic has been diverted through alternative routes to avoid the damaged section. Disaster management teams have reached the site and are working to assess the situation and restore connectivity. The administration has also stationed personnel in vulnerable zones to monitor further risks as rainfall continues.
Heavy vehicles have been restricted from entering the area until road conditions are stabilized. Commuters have been advised to confirm road status before travel. No casualties have been reported so far. Authorities continue to monitor the impact of ongoing rainfall on surrounding infrastructure.
