A man’s body was found floating in a pond on Bhuvan Mohan Roy Road in Kolkata’s Behala area on Monday morning. Around 8 AM, local residents spotted the body and immediately informed the Haridevpur police station. Police personnel reached the location, recovered the body from the water, and took it to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The deceased has been identified as Palash, a resident of the James Long Sarani locality in Behala. Locals stated that they did not see or hear anything unusual before the body was discovered. The area around the pond remained crowded as news of the incident spread, with many gathering to identify the body and seek information.
Police have started an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the death. The body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death. Officers are collecting statements from locals and checking for any signs of external injury or struggle.
