PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
Trinamool Congress MPs held a protest outside Parliament on Wednesday in response to a viral social media post that stated “Bangla koi bhasha nahi hoti” (Bangla is not a language). Party leaders carried posters of Rabindranath Tagore, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, and Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay while raising slogans such as “Bengali bhasha ka apmaan band karo” (Stop insulting the Bengali language) and “Hum Bengalion ka apmaan bardasht nahi karenge” (We will not tolerate the insult of Bengalis).
The protestors demanded the arrest of Amit Malviya, who was named by TMC MPs as the person behind the social media post. They said the post was offensive and called on the central government to take strict action. According to them, such remarks were unacceptable towards any Indian language, especially one with a deep cultural legacy.
The demonstration was held at the Parliament complex, where security was heightened. Police were deployed in large numbers to manage the crowd and ensure no disturbance occurred during the protest. The event concluded peacefully under police monitoring.
