Just two days after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s visit to Ghatal, Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, also visited the flood-affected region. During his visit, he participated in a party rally and a public meeting, where he launched a sharp attack on the state government. Adhikari alleged that the flood-affected areas are not receiving adequate relief and accused the administration of distributing aid with political bias. He further claimed there is a severe shortage of baby food and drinking water in the region. According to him, the crisis is not limited to humans—livestock too are suffering due to the lack of basic necessities.
