West Bengal Governor has granted prosecution sanction against former state minister Chandranath Sinha in connection with an Enforcement Directorate (ED) case after cash was recovered during a search at his residence. The Governor stated that the approval was given only after thoroughly examining all the information provided by the ED. “The decision was taken after thoroughly examining the information received from the agency,” he said. On the issue of West Bengal residents being referred to as "Bangladeshis," the Governor said the matter is being dealt with at the national level and efforts are underway to resolve it within the democratic framework. In protest against Bengali being referred to as a "Bangladeshi language," the Governor delivered his speech in Bengali.
