Deoghar to get new 17-km road connecting Ranchi, Dhanbad and Madhupur at Rs 109 crore

Jharkhand’s Deoghar district will get a new 17-kilometer road from Kashidih Mor to Punasi Zero Mile, approved at a cost of Rs 109 crore. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the road has received technical clearance from the Road Construction Department. The approval came following the recommendation of Deoghar MLA Suresh Paswan. The existing road built earlier by the REO is in a dilapidated condition, prompting the need for redevelopment.

The road will pass through several villages including Kheruadih, Kinayadih, Nepodih, Bahadurpur, Maniyarpur, Madhupur, and others before connecting to Punasi Zero Mile. It will also feature a new bridge over the Ajay River near Patharia. The improved road is expected to provide direct connectivity to Budhai and facilitate easier travel to Ranchi, Dhanbad, and Madhupur.

The Chief Engineer of the Road Construction Department has sent the technical approval letter to the Principal Secretary. Following administrative approval, tenders for construction will be floated. MLA Suresh Paswan stated, “Technical approval has been received from PWD. Discussions with the Chief Minister and Departmental Secretary have taken place. Administrative approval will follow soon, and work will start after Durga Puja.”

Once completed, the road is expected to relieve traffic congestion in the region and improve access for commuters and patients traveling to AIIMS and other important destinations. The project is set to enhance infrastructure and connectivity in Deoghar district significantly.
