Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday took a veiled swipe at countries he claims are unhappy with India’s rapid development. Speaking at an event, Singh said that some foreign powers are trying to make Indian-made products costlier in global markets to slow the nation’s growth.
“There are some people who are not happy with the speed at which India is developing. ‘Sab ke boss toh hum hain’. How is India growing at such a fast pace? Many are trying to ensure that things made in India become more expensive than what is made in their countries,” he remarked.
Highlighting India’s rising stature in the global defence sector, Singh announced that the country’s defence exports have now crossed ₹24,000 crore — a milestone he described as proof of India’s manufacturing strength and self-reliance.
