A tense atmosphere gripped Kestopur on Monday morning after locals spotted the body of an unidentified man floating in Baghjola Khal. Eyewitnesses said the body was drifting from Kestopur towards New Town Lohapul when it was first noticed. Residents immediately alerted the police, who reached the spot and pulled the body out of the water.
Officers from the Electronics Complex police station confirmed that the deceased was a youth aged between 25 and 30 years. No major injury marks were visible, but officials suspect the body had been in the water for several hours before it was found. It is still unclear whether the man fell or was pushed into the canal.
