PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
A housewife in the Kultali police station area of No. 1 Madhusudanpur was attacked with a sharp weapon after she protested against a late-night card game. The woman, who was left with a severe head injury, had to be hospitalized following the brutal assault. The incident has caused a stir in the locality, and a complaint has been lodged with the Kultali police.
According to the complaint, a card game had been taking place all night in front of the house of Ananta Mondal. As the night progressed into the early hours of the morning, the game was accompanied by loud shouting, arguments, and profanity. The disturbance was a source of great discomfort for the residents of the area.
Unable to tolerate the incessant noise and abusive language, Ananta Mondal's wife, Nilima Mondal, stepped out of her house to protest. Her intervention, however, was met with a violent response from the group. The situation escalated rapidly as the participants in the card game turned their aggression towards her.
It is alleged that a man named Sarbindu Gayen used a sharp weapon to strike Nilima Mondal on the head. When her brother-in-law, Shanta Mondal, came out to save her, he was also assaulted. The screams of the victims drew the attention of other neighbors, who rushed out to help. They were also reportedly subjected to verbal abuse by the assailants.
Following the incident, a complaint was filed at the Kultali police station. Acting on the complaint, the police have arrested Sarbindu Gayen, who is the main accused in the assault case. He is set to be presented before the Baruihpur Sub-Divisional Court today for legal proceedings.
The police are continuing their investigation into the matter. A counter-complaint has also been lodged by the accused, Sarbindu Gayen, alleging that he was also beaten during the altercation. The police are looking into both sides of the story to get a complete picture of the incident.
