An elderly woman was found dead in Behala’s Bakultala on Thursday morning. The deceased, identified as Sarbani Pal, was recovered in a half-charred state from the balcony of the second floor of her two-storey residence under Paransree Police Station. She lived in the house with her husband, while their son is employed in the United States.
According to family members, she had been suffering from several illnesses for a long time and was living in depression. Police have sent the body for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. Officials confirmed that investigations are underway, and all possible details are being collected from the scene.
