A fatal road accident occurred on Thursday near Bada Swarajpur in Dhatrigram, under the Kalna police jurisdiction, resulting in the deaths of three members of the same family. Faraz Mallik, along with his daughters Nurjahan Khatun and Farhana Khatun, were traveling on a motorcycle to Kalna Hospital for a medical check-up when their vehicle collided with a bus on the Nabadwip-Krishnanagar route.
The collision was severe, and Faraz Mallik and Nurjahan Khatun died instantly at the scene. Farhana Khatun sustained critical injuries and was taken to Kalna Sub-Divisional Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The accident has created a sense of mourning across Dhatrigram, with local residents expressing deep sorrow and anger over the incident.
Police officials are investigating the crash to determine the exact cause. Authorities have urged motorists, including bus operators, to follow traffic rules and drive cautiously to prevent further accidents. The incident highlights concerns regarding road safety along the Nabadwip-Krishnanagar route.
