The body of fruit seller Bishwajit Saha, a resident of Habra, was found in a pond near the Rajarhat-Gopalpur Municipal Office in Raghunathpur on Wednesday morning. Early morning walkers first spotted the body and immediately informed the Baguiati police. The police reached the site, recovered the body, and sent it to R.G. Kar Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Saha operated a fruit shop in VIP Raghunathpur, which had been managed by his employee since Saturday, the day he was last seen at the shop. His body was found approximately 700 meters from his shop. Police officials noted a small injury on the little toe of Saha’s left foot. The exact circumstances of his death remain undetermined, and authorities are awaiting the post-mortem report to ascertain the cause.
The incident has caused concern among local residents. Police have confirmed that they are investigating all aspects of the case, including the circumstances of Saha’s disappearance and the events leading to his death.
