More trouble for Mamata, sedition complaint filed over "controversial comment" against India
During a dengue awareness and mosquito control campaign on Tuesday in Halishahar village, South Sankrail area, two female health workers were attacked with acid, sustaining serious burns. Both victims were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and are currently under medical supervision.
The health department team was conducting anti-dengue spraying and awareness activities when they visited the house of local resident Viplav Manna. According to officials, Manna suddenly threw acid on the two workers, causing severe injuries. Following the incident, Sankrail police reached the scene promptly and arrested the accused, who is now in custody.
Authorities confirmed that the case is being investigated thoroughly. Medical personnel reported that the victims are stable but require intensive care. Local administration has highlighted the need for safety measures for health workers during public health campaigns and assured full support to the victims.
