Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
Music label T-Series and composer duo Sachet-Parampara are facing plagiarism allegations over the song Raanjhan from the OTT film Do Patti. International music producer KMKZ has claimed that the beats used in the track were taken from one of his online uploads without his approval, credit, or payment.
On Tuesday, KMKZ shared a video alleging that the piano sequence in Raanjhan matched a beat he had posted nearly two years ago. The producer said he was first alerted by a listener who identified the similarity. He stated that he later listened to the song and confirmed the resemblance himself.
The producer further said that Raanjhan has gained 290 million streams on Spotify and over 33 crore views on YouTube, but his contribution was not acknowledged. “I produced the number one song in India and I didn’t even know about it,” he said in the video, adding that he sent multiple emails to T-Series and the artists but did not receive a response.
In his post, KMKZ urged others to help amplify his message, requesting people to share the video so it reaches relevant stakeholders. He also demanded recognition for his work, stating, “There’s so many stories of producers getting ripped off nowadays but man 300m streams and number 1 on Billboard is crazy. I DEMAND A PLAQUE.”
Raanjhan was released on November 20, 2024, as part of Do Patti, a thriller directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi. The film stars Kajol, Kriti Sanon, Shaheer Sheikh, and Tanvi Azmi. The track was sung by Parampara Tandon, composed by Sachet-Parampara, and written by Kausar Munir. T-Series has not issued a statement on the allegations so far.
