A severe road accident occurred on Saturday morning on National Highway 60 in the Duki area of Chandrakona Road, Gadhbeta-3 block, West Medinipur. The incident involved a pickup van carrying masons and laborers toward Medinipur, which lost control and overturned. One person died on the spot while six others sustained serious injuries.
Emergency responders reached the scene promptly. One of the injured, in critical condition, was admitted to Medinipur Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment. The remaining injured received medical attention at nearby facilities. Local sources confirmed the van was moving at high speed before the accident occurred.
