Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty resigns, another massive blow to TMC
Police have recovered the valuables stolen from Shri Bal Hanuman Temple in Laketown, on 27 August. The recovered items include gold and silver ornaments, crowns, and ritual utensils used for daily worship. A coordinated operation by Laketown Police and the Bidhannagar Detective Department led to the recovery from Chandneshwar in Bhangar.
Three suspects—Paran Ali Sardar, Bapi Majhi, and Sonai Das—were arrested in connection with the theft. They were produced before Bidhannagar Court, which ordered nine days of police custody for further investigation. One accused is still at large and police are continuing efforts to apprehend him.
Temple authorities confirmed that the stolen items were integral to daily rituals. CCTV footage from the temple had captured the burglary, which helped police identify the suspects. The arrested individuals were taken into custody following forensic examinations and evidence collection at the temple premises.
