Kolkata witnessed another shocking murder after the blood-soaked body of a retired government employee was recovered from his home in Golf Green. Police have detained his son-in-law, Sanjeev Das, in connection with the killing and started interrogation.
According to neighbors, Sanjeev had a heated argument with his father-in-law on Friday night over money. Soon after, the elderly man’s body was discovered in the courtyard of his residence at 30 Kalabagan Lane with multiple injury marks. Panic gripped the locality as the news spread.
Sources revealed that the victim’s daughter had been married to Sanjeev only 20 days ago. Since then, she had allegedly been facing harassment from her husband, who often created disturbances at her parental home. Neighbors confirmed that similar unrest was seen on the night of the murder.
Police are now investigating the case to determine the exact sequence of events and the role of the accused in the crime. The daughter and other family members are also being questioned to gather more details.
