The Electronics Complex police in Salt Lake have solved a scooter theft case within days, arresting the accused from Howrah and recovering the stolen vehicle. The breakthrough came after investigators tracked the suspect’s movements using CCTV footage from the area.
According to police sources, the complainant, Abhishek Panda, a resident of Santragachi and employee of Sunknowledge Services Limited in Sector 5, had parked his scooter in the company’s parking area around 7:10 pm on October 7. When he returned after work, the vehicle was missing.
Panda immediately lodged a written complaint at the Electronics Complex police station. Acting swiftly, police launched an investigation, examining CCTV footage from nearby cameras that eventually led them to the accused in Howrah. The stolen scooter was recovered and handed back to its owner.
Officials said the arrest was made possible through coordinated surveillance and technical tracking. The accused is now in custody and will be produced in court for further legal proceedings.
