NIA searches Saokat Molla’s home and party office, son questioned in Bhangar blast case
West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) Supremo Mamata Banerjee launched an extraordinary verbal assault on Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday, delivering a sensational public warning to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against trusting his close confidant.
Returning to Kolkata from a tour of North Bengal, the TMC supremo did not mince words, directly advising the Prime Minister to "be a little careful" of Shah, whom she ominously labeled a potential "Mir Jafar" or great traitor.
Speaking to reporters at the Kolkata airport, Mamata Banerjee pointedly used the historical term for treachery to describe the Home Minister. "I will tell the Prime Minister, don't always trust Amit Shah. You will see, one day he will become the biggest Mir Jafar! Be a little careful," the Chief Minister stated, directly naming Shah and questioning his loyalty and intentions.
The Chief Minister did not stop at the warning of betrayal; she went on to accuse the Union Home Minister of exceeding his authority, mockingly referring to him as the "Acting Prime Minister." She linked Shah to several politically motivated schemes in Bengal and slammed his party leaders for allegedly holding meetings to discuss deleting the names of one crore voters from the electoral rolls, calling it a plot masterminded by Shah.
