Tension gripped the Salanpur area on Saturday morning after the body of a young woman was found hanging from a tree in the Kakurkunda forest under the Kallaya Gram Panchayat. The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Alka Kisku, a resident of Rampur Gosaipara in Jitpur-Uttarampur Gram Panchayat.
Local residents spotted the body and immediately informed the police. A team from Rupnarayanpur Fandi rushed to the scene, took down the body, and began preliminary investigations. The police later identified the deceased and informed her family.
According to the woman’s brother, Alka had left home three days earlier without telling anyone. Her sudden disappearance had already left the family worried, and the discovery of her body has deepened their grief. Police are yet to determine whether it is a case of suicide or foul play.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and police have started an inquiry to uncover the exact cause of death. The incident has created panic and sorrow in the local community.
