Two men from Jharkhand’s Palamu district have been booked for filming and uploading Instagram reels from inside a police station. The videos, which quickly went viral on social media, showed one of the men dramatically walking out of the police lock-up, mimicking a movie scene.
After the videos surfaced, a written complaint was filed by TOP-1 in-charge Indradev Paswan, leading to an FIR against the duo. The accused have been identified as Rohit Pandey, alias Devil Pandey, and Suraj Kumar. They were booked under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to the police, the background audio used in the videos was deemed offensive and allegedly hurt the sentiments of another community. Both individuals were later brought to the police station, where they submitted a written apology and were released on a PR bond.
Station in-charge Jyotilal Rajwar confirmed that the videos have since been deleted from social media. The police have initiated further investigation to determine how the men accessed the premises and recorded the footage.
