PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
The Bengal BJP intensified its campaign against the ruling party on Wednesday, organizing a march from College Square to Dorina Crossing to protest the attack on Khagen Murmu. Party leaders spoke against the state government, highlighting incidents of violence against women and political attacks across Bengal. The march was called by the BJP Tribal Front, signaling a focus on tribal issues.
Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, attended the march alongside senior BJP figures, including former state presidents Rahul Sinha and Sukanta Majumdar. Other prominent leaders, such as Locket Chatterjee, were also present, showing the party’s united front on these issues. Participants carried traditional tribal weapons, including bows and arrows, underscoring the cultural symbolism behind the protest.
Addressing the crowd at the conclusion of the march, Suvendu Adhikari said, “For the past several months, people have been facing political attacks in various parts of the state. This government is anti-tribal. The end of the march does not mean the end of the movement. Today is the beginning of the movement. If we want change, we must bring about change. If change happens on the 26th, we will take revenge with interest.”
The march reflects the BJP’s strategy of combining political protest with cultural symbolism to pressure the state government and mobilize tribal communities ahead of key political events.
